“Every child is an artist…” – Pablo Picasso
Picasso was right! And in honour of him we have our Little Picasso Kid’s Plaster Painting Party. This package suits the budget conscious parent, or the parent roped into inviting the whole class (don’t worry – we’ve all been there!). We supply the basics in terms of catering – popcorn, lollies, cordial and water. But parents are absolutely welcome to bring their own food (particularly handy if there are any food allergies within your group). But keep in mind that we don’t have a kitchen and therefore do not have any heating or freezing facilities. The most we have is a little bar fridge to in pop drinks or items that need a bit of chilling.
Age-wise the Little Picasso package is ideal for older children 7yrs plus. At this age, the children are generally more focused and deliberate in how they choose to paint and decorate a plaster piece – hence taking greater care and more time.
Often, with girls in particular, plaster painting is accented with excited chatter, singing (with our awesome kid-endorsed playlist) and the occasional burst of impromptu dancing! We don’t mind – if anything we encourage it by turning up the music. It’s not unusual for us to play song requests too! Although our parties are run to a schedule, we are always happy to go with the flow on the day. And if that involves a bit of painting paired with karaoke, we are happy to oblige!
